Words cannot express how truly grateful we are for the incredible amount of donations received by the Waukesha Wrestling Club in honor of Coach Mike Schmidt! His humor, support, and positive impact will be a loss our wrestling community and family will feel for many years to come. Your generous contributions are being used to purchase new club singlets for youth wrestling tournaments, to help our middle school teams purchase new team singlets for competition, and to create memorial plaques to be displayed at each of the 3 Waukesha high schools where Coach Mike shared his love of wrestling and supported his athletes and their families for many years. These singlets will be used by wrestlers for many years and will be printed with a custom memorial graphic to continue Coach Mike's legacy to bring the love of wrestling to all he could reach and a reminder of his ultimate message to "have fun and wrestle hard"!  On behalf of my family and the Waukesha Wrestling Club, THANK YOU for helping keep Coach Mike Schmidt's spirit and legacy a large part of the wrestling club. He would say, "it's all for the kids"!

Sincerely,
Katie Mulloy and Family
(Mike's daughter)

Coach Mike Schmidt
May 5, 1952 - July 28, 2024

Mike Schmidt was a dedicated coach with the Waukesha Wrestling Club for almost 40 years. He coached two generations of wrestlers. He had been with us every step of the way since the inception of the club. Mike had done everything and anything that was needed. He coached at practices, coached mat side at weekend tournaments, supported and encouraged all wrestlers, transported kids, washed mats, and more. The Waukesha Wrestling Club would not be where it is today without him. He will be deeply missed in the wrestling community.
